| A wounded bison and a man: This was painted using natural pigments like ochre, charcoal, and iron oxides These images were found by four boys in 1940 France, deep in the Cave of Lascaux, famous for its prehistoric paintings. There is a lot more images than shown here, they all depict animals, hunts, and wars. The pictures were obviously used to tell stories and were drawn on the wall like a comic strip. The story of the hunt goes from the left to the right, until the prey is captured. Take a look for yourself -- Lascaux |
